Job Description:

The successful candidate will utilize software development and problem solving skills to develop, test, and support various products offered by Tracker Networks™. Additional requirements include product documentation, requirements gathering, as well as client interaction. This position will provide opportunities to grow in the field of software development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and according to specification
  • Conducting testing and deploying the application into production
  • Establishing a detailed program specification through discussion with clients and the Tracker Architect
  • Develop new functions and features to Tracker’s various products
  • Breaking down program specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into a programming language
  • Devising possible solutions to anticipated problems
  • Working as part of a team using current development methodologies
  • Combining all elements of the program design and testing it
  • Reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary
  • Adapting the program to new requirements, as necessary
  • Input detailed documentation for the guide of the program by users and computer operators
  • Consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge

Expertise & Skills

  • Ability to analyze, support, and develop various products/projects concurrently
  • Minimum 2 years in depth experience in Ruby on Rails is mandatory.
  • Some exposure to Ember JS is desirable
  • Mobile development experiences an asset
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Action script (Flex), Java script, cuss, html, or JavaScript
  • Familiar with extreme programming practices
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented principles
  • Relational Database design understanding and SQL experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with clients

Qualifications

  • Computer Science (Engineering) degree or equivalent
  • 4 years software development experience
  • Experience in individual and group development environments
  • Desire to work in smaller but rapidly growing company, committed to deliver quality and useable products
  • Able to provide the senior go-to developer role for key Tracker products

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years’software or services sales
  • Strong direct sales experience
  • Consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals
  • Successful history of net new business sales a must
  • Action-oriented approach, and a “get it done now” mindset
  • Focus on excellence in customer service and satisfaction
  • Ability to understand the “bigger picture” and the business drivers around IT
  • Ability to work independently and to seek help when required
  • Comfortable selling to senior executives
  • Can-do attitude, able to ask for the business and close deals
